HELLO... 6K folks, one and all...

Remember kaffeeklatch? Yep...it was launched in 2005, the memorable year you gals & guys graduated from primary school... it's been more than 2 years...

All of you have moved on...and I have too. Taking a P3 class last year and another graduating class this year...phew!!! Glad that the PSLE is over... so did you attempt the 3 Maths questions published in the ST last Sunday? I thought the Science paper was challenging, but to be honest, very good questions. I salute SEAB!

I'm moving to Melbourne, Australia. A big move indeed, bringing along all my furniture and of course my 2 kids. I'll set up my home in Eastern Melbourne, a suburb called Mitcham. I'm flying off with my one-way ticket on SQ237 on Christmas Eve, 24 Dec 2007.

9 months of the year had passed... that' s a good three quarter... tho it's not time to do reflections nor make new year resolutions, i think it's not too soon to pause..take stock of your the events of your life this far... for all of you - it's be your 1st year journey into secondary school life.

As a teacher, i make weekly reflections on the lessons i've conducted, the other involvements in school activities and events- this is what we call 'reflective practitioner' - tho rather time consuming and tedious at times, it's been really beneficial. I get to note down many of my own strength and weaknesses. That for me is like my own Teacher's Journey...

I've read many comments from some of you that less 6Kaffeeklatches blog here... for whatever reason that maybe. And if we think that it's due to a lack of enthusiasm, the rest of us should try to revive the 6K spirit. Perhaps we can start something going in this blog - 6K's Learning Journey... i like that 'someone' who started to post questions to get solutions..even if it means getting others to do your homework - that's still sharing!!!

BTW, please identify yourself when you post here - just remember that posting here is like writing a letter --- so do sign off : with your NAME!

It seems that our class spirit has faded( OK, we aren't exactly a class but an ex-class). Anyway, when class meetings are organised, why do only half the ppl turn up?

Let's get to the point: would going to a class outing just once in a blue moon have to be so tedious? Are the expenses really that high? Will just going to a class outing once in a blue moon kill you?

OK, if there's a problem with our ex-class, it's definately(and obviously) the class spirit. I don't blame you if you are sick or are participating in important events. I am blaming those who intentionally do not come.

Now folks, I wanna converse on a very serious topic. So, you absolutely have to read this article.

Now, how many of you can tell me who isn't stressed out from secondary school? Of course everybody is. The thing is, problems caused by not being adapted to secondary school life have a big range from small to SUICIDAL. Our primary school cirraculum( I hope this word isn't spelt wrongly. If it is, pls edit this article and change it.Thx) isn't as tough as our secondary cirraculum(once again, if this word is spelt wrongly, pls edit.Thx) so the changes in school life might be drastic to some people, something like a culture shock.

I heard that one of my old friends in West View has slit her wrist quite a number of times.(You guys should know how dangerous that is.) Compared to other students who are forced to skip lunch quite often, this matter is grave.

So let me urge you guys: don't, and absolutely don't, submit to suicidal thoughts. Get counceling or wadever. Just don't think suicidal thoughts. I don't want to be attending anybody's funeral. Let me tell you this just in case you don't know: you won't get covered by insurance if injury/death is self-intentional.

I hope you guys take my message seriously

Heyy ppl...hui ning here. well seeing all the rest of the committee ppl so enthu bout the gathering makes me abit pai seh leh...hahas jk jk so basically as u all noe it will be in Dec. So again pls dun tell us u have exams need to study or stuff like that. So its at East Coast and why we this batch of west residents decided to go east is dat east coast fun-ner, got more facilities right! rite. so we haven decided on the date but we'll do it soon so when we start calling pls pls give us more definite reply rather than maybes. and for the activities everyone pls give suggestions! and yupp sry for the last gathering at ngee ann city civic plaza it was kind of disorganized we'll try to improve...

Lastly anyone interested to help out in the committee go ahead! maybe organise a BBQ committee or sth. or just help out in the main stuff. Anyone wants to join just send any of us 5 an email. I had a chapter from "Tuesdays with Morrie" as a passage for a compre. Its actually a good read if it wasn't used by my eng teacher a.k.a "canadian man" for the compre and also if my eng teacher didn't expect "insightful" answers to the compre, causing extreme stress and me reading the passage over and over again... sighz...

Speaking of canadian man, he's called "canadian man" as he is a Singaporean who went to Canada to study and/or teach and has recently come back. He is crazy about grammar and he wore a karen tribe costume during racial harmony day, plus he translated a story called "The Night Of The Uglies" from Spanish to Engilsh and gave it as a "gift"(he called it a gift and told us to treasure it and also told us that he cried when he read it for the first time) to my class and asked us to write our reflections after reading the story.

P.S if you guys want to read "The Night Of The Uglies", think twice as it may(in your opinion) have some "explicit/unsuitable" content.

Well, chinese pupils who had been inspired by Mdm Liew Jiew Hong during the time she was the CL teacher would certainly tilt your head, widen your eyes, let out a cry of joy if you have read it in the ST last Saturday... Mdm Liew was nominated and selected to be 1 of the 8 most inspiring CL teachers. CLAP!!! CHEERS!!! Yup! We at WV are very proud of her achievement... it certainly is one of the highlights of this year over here.... Please join me in CONGRATULATIONS to Mdm Liew!

With many thanks to you for the well wishes on my B'day yesterday.. m touched that you remember a rather forgettable person like me, yup, me deserve it for having totally neglected this blog page i 'gave birth' to just last year... but i must say that this 'baby' of mine does have a high EQ and it has definitely taken a life of its own since.
You gals and guys are simply great! I've so much fun reading the entries... just keep it "COOL" plzzz... itz really a wonderful way to share, to unload your thoughts...
And now, my sincere apologies for having been MIA from this blog the last few months... i almost 4got the userid and password. BTW, i've got at least 10 such passwords to use at work. yah, yah, yah, excuses, excuses, excuses... anyway i'm in here already and it feels like just yesterday that we got together. Hey, you people are still the same - same old good self!!!
Just realise that i've probably lived half my short life here on earth, ie if i live till 70! Wah!!! by then, how many wedding invitations will i have received from all the gals ang guys from 6K.. throw in a few more gatherings and baby's first month.. and i think i'll be truly contented.. hee... hee..

Edmund went into Com Club, Yao Rong got into table tennis, and Yi Wei

got into the pioneer batch of the volleyball CCA which only consists of 16 people including him,(volleyball was his fifth choice and it was quite a surprise for him that he did not get into NPCC of which he was short listed and put as his third choice)Ang Jason got into NCC, Wei Lun got into NPCC and Zhi Hui got into basketball.(He said that actually he was selected for volleyball)

It's a whole week of tension before THE day, 24 Nov. .. I was waking up on and off and almost always with a heavy head... i want to be positive but you know how hard it is to stay positive... and there's really too much stress coming from everyone- the expectation part being the hardest to take. NVM... then the day came and i coulc only recall that i was sooo busy trying to complete the Momories CD... thank God for Ms Lai and Barbara.. always there to help.. i was dying of anticipation! Every beep from my hp startles me and i was absolutely not myself! ...................... i actually stood at the porch outside the office and waited for P and VP to arrive. Thank God for Mdm Su, we huddled together and just froze for that moment when the car came in... 1st GOOD sign - Mdm Anitha was smiling; 2nd GOOD sign - Mr Foo was smiling... that's enough for me. And the BEST news I've ever heard in my LIFE : Highest score 275!!!! - I screamed my lungs out. Mdm Su and I hugged and danced around for a good 1 minute... then we cried! But tears of joy lah... ooooo, that's a fantastic and most wonderful achievement that West View is so proud of... so my dearest Hui Ning - Thank you for being part of us... i shed more tears of joy when i went over the rest of your results. Hey! 15 A* for English, 27 A* for Maths, 16A* for Science!! 28 of you qualify for Special Stream. .. and the list goes on.... most of all, we're all satisfied or more than satisfy the expectations that has been put on us.. and now we can move on, with our heads held high. And when we look back at the year of hard work we all put in for 2005- we can say that it's all been worth it, every single bit of it.. HURRAY! 6K - WE DID IT!!! Well, hi 6K (I feel as if i'm talking to thin air) Hui Ning here. Anyway I posted this blog cos kamalia asked me to.... So...the graduation nite was great except 4 de part where there were extra food leftover. It could have lasted till midnite, and the clock strikes twelve and everyone's glass sneakers fell off as they ran down the stairs. Then there was this lost and found.....(sounds familar? :P) so....the psle results will be out in... approximately 1 and a half daes, man! That is FAST. To everyone in 6K, gd luck, hope u pass wif flyin colours (it's always the same old lines) and may the so-so ppl do good and the good ppl even better. Hope u guys(and galz) will get into ur dream skool and on that day, cry tears of joy, k? Well, for those that didn't do as well, don't be demoralized. You still have 'O' Levels, 'A' Levels and so on. okay... i'll end here... remember 2 keep in touch! See ya on Thursday!
